Step 4. Create a Rule

In this tutorial, users will learn how to create a Validation Rule to validate customer data and create different types of checks against various attributes. A validation rule allows users to test for issues in a specific dataset. It can be used to test for null values, incorrect formats, lists of reference data values, and more.

  1. Open the Data Testing module.
  2. Select the Workspace (Optional).
  3. Click on New Rule.
  4. Select a Folder.
  5. Input Rule Name.
  6. Choose the Validation Template.
  7. Input metadata in Overview.
  8. Select Customer Table in Source Dataset.
  9. Add multiple Checks.
  10. Configure Exception Report Properties.
  11. Publish Rule.
